About Us

Committed to Equity

We have the opportunity to realize the mission of Notre Dame San Jose with greater clarity, strength and equity for the members of our community—past, present and future. This begins now with accountability and commitment to the work. We have prayed and will continue, and now we will work. Read about our commitment to this important work.

Building Blocks for the Future

Notre Dame educates today's young women for leadership, global citizenship and socially-responsible entrepreneurship. Our rich urban landscape and innovative programs cultivate young women with strong voices who will bring intelligent compassion to their world - young women who become active leaders in our local, national and global communities.

Ashley Rae Mathis

We welcome Ashley Rae Mathis to Notre Dame High School as the new head of school. She brings an understanding of the purpose of Catholic education and a clear vision of the educational needs of the 21st century.

Education for Career & Life Success

Notre Dame has provided a distinctive Catholic, college-preparatory education for young women in the heart of downtown since 1851 by "teaching them what they need to know for life."

Proven Benefits

Research shows the benefits of an all-girls education include higher academic achievement, stronger leadership skills and greater self-confidence. In our women-centric environment, students are empowered to be bold leaders.

Notre Dame Leadership

Notre Dame is led by a team of individuals highly experienced in education, business and nonprofit management who understand the benefits of an all-girls environment.

Governance

The Notre Dame Board of Directors ensures that the operations of the school are consistent with the mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and provides fiduciary oversight.
