ND Students Advocate for Justice in Washington, D.C.

Students talking to policy aide

By Alina '26

From Nov. 13-17, 9 seniors from ND embarked on a five-day trip to our nation’s capital, Washington D.C., for the annual Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice. At the conference, they were joined by many other Jesuit high school and university students to learn about issues throughout our country. While there are many topics that need to be discussed, the ND students focused on advocating for environmental justice and better immigration legislation. On Monday the 17th, they made their way to the Capitol to meet with the policy aides of California Representatives Rho Khanna, Zoe Logfren, and Sam Liccardo, as well as met with the policy aide of California Senator Adam Schiff to voice their concerns and perspectives on these subjects. Overall, it was a very productive and exciting trip for the students!
