Parent Social Builds Community

ND Compadres Parent Group

To kick off the school year, ND Compadres parent resource group hosted a Bienvenida for incoming and returning parents to connect on a social level. Parents gathered at The Burrito Factory, owned by a Notre Dame family, where they learned about opportunities to engage in the community at ND and participate in their student’s education. An incoming parent even donated branded t-shirts for each person in attendance.

Three years ago, two parents formed ND Compadres as a way to strengthen the Latino community at Notre Dame and support the students on their educational journey. The group serves as a resource to the Notre Dame community and the Notre Dame Parent Association (NDPA), engaging parents socially, creating a supportive space for leadership and helping strengthen the fabric of the community for ND and its students.

The group meets four times per year and is very active in many cultural events and opportunities, both on-campus and in the community. For more information on ND Compadres and all of our parent resource groups, view our Family Engagement page.
