Celebrating the Gift of Diversity

Celebrating the Gift of Diversity

In celebration of the gift of diversity, Notre Dame’s cultural clubs recently presented the annual Diversity Showcase to a standing-room-only audience in Julie Billiart Hall. The day of the event saw the majority of Notre Dame’s student population arriving in their cultural attire, filling the school with bright colors and the joy of celebrating heritage. Notre Dame High School is known for its diverse student population as well as the way the community embraces cultural differences.

Led by Ms. Tanisha Fitzgerald and Ms. Amanda Klasila, the beautiful event was a partnership between Notre Dame’s Diversity Council and the Facing History Leadership group. During the early part of the event, student entrepreneurs sold goods including cookies, tote bags and more! There was also a variety of cultural foods available for guests to purchase.

The event continued with displays of culture and heritage with groups of students presenting spoken word poetry and the attire and dances of their heritage.

This is one of many Notre Dame events that showcase our cultural diversity. By including cultural and religious groups, the school has created a safe space for students to embrace their backgrounds and share their ideas.
