Student Leaders Share State of the School Address

On Wednesday, Notre Dame High School student body put on their finest formal uniforms and headed to the gym for an annual tradition: the State of the School assembly.

The assembly commenced with a foreword from beloved head of school, Ms. Riley. She discussed newly implemented systems she enjoyed, including the Regent Cup and Community Circles, and her hopes for the upcoming semester. Her last introductory speech was dedicated to Mr. Stahl, a familiar face on campus who passed away last Sunday. Ms. Riley ended her statement by inspiring the Notre Dame community to “do good things,” which was Mr. Stahl’s signature phrase.

The ASB School Council then shared notable progress. From academics to extracurriculars, and school spirit to student leadership, it was clear the Regents attained admirable achievements throughout the first semester. One jaw-dropping statistic was that the Class of 2023 Jaguars have submitted more than 3,000 college applications!

With Spirit Week approaching, the highly anticipated dress-up days were announced. The class mascots modeled the four creative costume days: Celebrity vs. Paparazzi Day, Dynamic Duo Day, Y2K Day, and Heartthrob Day.

As with all Notre Dame assemblies, the State of the School concluded with everyone arm-in-arm and singing the alma mater in unison.
