Saints Day Liturgy at the Cathedral

Saints Day Liturgy at the Cathedral

November holds special significance in Catholic life as a month of remembrance. This week our Notre Dame Catholic community celebrated All Saints and All Souls, remembering the many holy women and men of our past and present who are part of that wider spiritual community that we call “the communion of saints” in the Catholic tradition.

On Tuesday, students, faculty and staff walked to the Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph for our All Saints Day liturgy, prepared by campus ministry student leaders and led by Father Jon Pedigo of Catholic Charities and Deacon Steve Herrera, religious studies teacher. This year’s theme - Saints, Ancestors and Us - Our Journey Together - highlighted our connection to those saints and loved ones who inspire us in faith and leadership. In our cultures and faith traditions, diverse identities and families, there are holy people who have shown us the way to goodness and justice.
