League of Young Women Voters Celebrates Women's History Month

By Malyna Trujillo '23

The League of Young Women Voters is a leadership group that encourages students to register/pre-register to vote, educates students on elections, and has important conversations on current events and politics. We do this through our Instagram page, website and more. In the past few years, we have invited Sen. Alex Padilla to speak to the school (when he was CA Secretary of State), held voter registration drives and heard from powerful leaders. This month, we are celebrating Women's History Month by honoring important women in the history of our country who often go unnoticed. We also invited Santa Clara County Supervisor Cindy Chavez and Isamar Garcia-Hernandez, vote 411 coordinator for League of Women Voters to be our guest speakers. We believe that it is our duty to continue their legacy and carry on their fight for justice. Click here to view our video.
