Notre Dame Enters Lenten Season with Ash Wednesday Liturgy

The ND community of faculty/staff and students entered the Lenten season with a prayer service. Presided over by Father Victor Trinidad and featuring a theme of "Belonging & Brokenness" the liturgy was organized by the Peer Ministry Leadership Team and featured student liturgical and music ministers.

"This year we’ve all worked to ensure that ALL belong, and so during this season we intend to highlight how our sense of belonging to each other deepens when we share in our individual and communal brokenness," shared Daniel Valcazar, campus minister for spirituality. "Brokenness can mean many things, but we want to focus on how brokenness can be a place of encounter and communal effort toward the creation of something new.  You’ll notice a Kintsugi heart on our worship aid and a quote from Rumi, 'The wound is the place where the light enters you.” In community, brokenness can be made new and beautiful in unexpected ways.'"
