Students Win Science Olympiad Competition

Students Sahithi Madireddy ‘19 and Samskruthi Madireddy ‘21 recently won a 1st place medal in Disease Detectives, 2nd place in Designer Genes (Genetics), and 3rd place in Anatomy & Physiology at the Science Olympiad tournament held at Tracy High School. They also won 1st place medals in Anatomy, 2nd place in Designer Genes and Herpetology, and 3rd place in Disease Detectives at the Ukiah Science Olympiad Tournament.

Founded in 1984, Science Olympiad is one of the premier science competitions in the nation, providing rigorous, standards-based challenges to nearly 8,000 teams in all 50 states. The organization hosts 450 tournaments annually on college campuses and hold professional development workshops that showcase innovative science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). 

Sahithi was also selected as an American Philosophy Olympiad (APO) finalist. She will compete for a chance to represent the United States at the International Philosophy Olympiad in Rome. Congratulations to these very accomplished young women.
