Students Hold Mock Elections

Students Hold Mock Elections

One of the values and traditions of Notre Dame is its engagement in the community. The school is committed to fostering active membership in society including participation in elections. For this important midterm election 21 Notre Dame students were trained and working the polls throughout the county on Tuesday.

Notre Dame held its own mock election as the country made important decisions regarding the future direction. To help students prepare, the 79 Government students created a voter guide. The mock election gave a voice to those members of the ND community not eligible to vote. More than half of the student body showed up to cast ballots.

We, the Notre Dame community, showed that diversity does not have to mean division through our mock election. It is with that spirit of respect at the foundation of our prayers that we move forward into the future.
