Sophomores Step Up to Leadership as Eighth Grade Day Hosts

Although most students here at ND have gotten used to the rush and camaraderie of attending classes in high school, potential members of the incoming Class of 2022 freshmen hadn't had that opportunity until last week. On November 10th, eighth graders from a multitude of different schools visited the ND campus for Eighth Grade Day and experienced a day in the life of a high school student on a bustling, thriving urban campus.

Students had the opportunity to attend “mini classes” in each department, ate lunch (an integral part of attending ND) and learned about all the various clubs and organizations on campus. The Class of 2020 Griffins, the future big sisters to these eighth graders, put into practice the leadership skills they have been learning all year in a variety of ways, from being small group leaders to classroom coordinators to helping with the rally.

We look forward to having many of the 8th graders who joined us for this special day join us as members of the Class of 2022 next fall!
