Students Explore California Academy of Sciences

As Notre Dame continues to return to its pre-pandemic state, class field trips have once again become an important component of the school experience. Field trips help get students out of their classrooms and into the real world, immersing them in connections between schoolwork and practical applications.

Recently many of the physical and life sciences classes did just that by sending their students on a field trip to rainy San Francisco to visit the California Academy of Sciences.

Led by Ms. Fazeli, this field trip gave students the opportunity to apply their scientific knowledge to their surroundings through the academy’s countless resources. Students were able to explore the depths of the rainforest, the ecosystems of the ocean and the magnitudes of a California earthquake. The students were also given a private tour of the museum’s living roof, where they learned how the roof’s weather stations help keep the academy functioning and running smoothly.
