Eileen Tanghal is currently General Partner of Black Opal Ventures, a female minority led venture capital fund investing in early stage technology companies.

She formerly was Managing Director for In-Q-Tel, the not for profit venture capital partner for the US intelligence community and her allies. Prior to that she was Vice President of New Business Venture for Arm Holdings and General Manager, Managing Director for Applied Ventures, the venture capital arm of Applied Materials.  Eileen Tanghal and her husband own franchises in Redwood City and Fremont of theCoderSchool, an afterschool enrichment program. Eileen served on the board of St. Charles School in San Carlos and on the investment committee of Notre Dame High School for girls. 

In her spare time, Eileen enjoys learning languages, travelling and investing in real estate. Her children - Alex (10) and Lily (5) keep her busy most days.

She is a big proponent for bringing more women in STEM fields as well as into venture capital.
