Maryam Ibrahim Amir - Muslim Faith Leader

Maryam Amir received her master’s in education from UCLA and holds a second bachelor’s degree in Islamic studies through the historic Al-Azhar University. She’s been featured in news outlets including BBC, NPR and CBS and lectures internationally, including in Jerusalem, Stockholm, London and more. She holds a second degree blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do and is the creator of the #FOREMOTHERS campaign, highlighting women’s Quranic recitations globally.

Somanjana Chatterjee - Hindu Faith Leader

Silicon Valley Interreligious Council, Hindu American Foundation

Ms. Chatterjee is a board member for the Silicon Valley Interreligious Council (SiVIC), representing Hinduism. She serves as the interfaith coordinator for the Hindu American Foundation and is a current graduate student in interreligious studies with a concentration in Hindu sacred texts at the Graduate Theological University, UC Berkeley.

Reverend Allison Draper, M.Div - Soto Zen Buddhist Faith Leader

Spiritual Care Services with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital

Rev. Allison is an ordained priest in the Soto Zen Buddhist tradition. Her ministry is in supporting families of all cultural and spiritual backgrounds, drawing on her Catholic upbringing, and undergrad and graduate level studies of diverse spiritual expressions. Rev. Allison holds a master's degree in divinity from Shogaku Zen Institute and completed a year-long residency in clinical pastoral education at Stanford. Rev. Allison now leads the Spiritual Care Services department of Lucile Packard Children’s hospital at Stanford. She is board certified with the Association of Professional Chaplains, and specializes in hospice and palliative care. Rev. Allison’s Notre Dame connection is through her daughter Lindsey Warren, Class of 2019. Rev. Allison has been honored to be a guest lecturer for Notre Dame World Religion classes.

Cantor Devorah Felder-Levy - Jewish Faith Leader

Congregation Shir Hadash, Los Gatos

Devorah Felder-Levy is part of the clergy team as the Cantor at Congregation Shir Hadash in Los Gatos, California since 1996. She graduated with a bachelor of science degree in music education from the University of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana and masters of sacred music from Hebrew Union College -Jewish Institute of Religion. In honor of her 25th year in the Cantorate, Cantor Felder-Levy recently received an honorary doctorate of music in recognition of her commitment, dedication and service to Jewish values and the Jewish people for the past 25 years. She is also the proud mother of a Notre Dame alumna, Mia Levy, Class of 2021. Go Tigers!

Pastor Helen Kung - Christian Faith Leader

St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, San Jose

Pastor Helen has been a journalist, marketing professional, educator, and caregiver. She has served as a bridging leader in multicultural communities, built a citizenship ministry that helps more than 1,000 immigrants become new citizens, and proofread the Chinese translation of Justice Sonia Sotomayor's book "My Beloved World."

Sr. Rosalie Pizzo,’52 SNDdeN - Catholic Faith Leader

Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur

Sr. Rosalie is a life-long member of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and a graduate of Notre Dame San Jose. She holds an MA in administration from San Jose State University. Her ministerial experiences included teaching, social ministry, administration and pastoral positions in California. She also served as community coordinator for the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur at the generalate offices in Rome. Her latest role was that of bishop's delegate to religious for the Diocese of San Jose. Sr. Rosalie is a member of the Notre Dame San Jose Board of Directors.

Kathleen Quiazon - Catholic

Director of Mission & Ministry, Notre Dame San Jose

Ms. Quiazon is a Notre Dame educator and Catholic lay minister with twenty-five years of professional ministry and leadership experience. Her expertise in liturgy and music as well as Catholic formation have made her a frequent facilitator, presenter and advisor to the Notre Dame network, the Diocese of San Jose, and the National Catholic Education Association. With degrees in religious studies and music, Ms. Quiazon is currently a doctoral candidate in Catholic educational leadership at the University of San Francisco.

Rabbi Josh Berkenwald - Jewish Faith Leader

Congregation Sinai, San Jose

Rabbi Josh Berkenwald, proud father of Noa Berkenwald ’22, joined Congregation Sinai in August 2007.  He is pleased to be the spiritual leader of a diverse congregation that embraces people of all ages and backgrounds who seek meaningful ways to be Jewish.  In addition to serving Congregation Sinai, Rabbi Berkenwald sits on the board of directors of Yavneh Day School. Rabbi Berkenwald received his ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America in New York City in 2007. 

Reverend Nancy Palmer Jones - Unitarian Faith Leader

First Unitarian Church of San Jose

Rev. Nancy Palmer Jones has joyfully served as senior minister at the First Unitarian Church of San Jose for over 16 years. She is co-chair of the board of PACT (People Acting in Community Together) and co-author with Karin Lin of Mistakes and Miracles: Congregations on the Road to Multiculturalism. Before following her call as a minister, she relished 20-year twin careers as a professional actor and book editor.

Dr. Jyothi Sulochina Lulla - Hindu Faith Leader

Hindu American Foundation, Silicon Valley Interreligious Council

Dr. Lulla is a retired Kaiser physician. She is a community worker advocating for the understanding of Hinduism, end of life issues, and volunteers as a Hindu Chaplain in the Bay Area. Dr. Lulla has been a guest speaker for Notre Dame’s World Religions courses.

Girish Shah - Jain Faith Leader

Silicon Valley Interreligious Council & Jain Center of Northern California

Girish Shah is a Jain lay leader. He currently serves as chairman of the Jain Center of Northern California (JCNC). He is also chairman of the board of Silicon Valley Interreligious Council (SiVIC). He is devoted full time to serve the community through several non-profits.

Sr. Nancy O’Shea’61, SNDdeN - Catholic Faith Leader

Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur

Sr. Nancy, a proud member of the Class of 1961, is joined by her three sisters and two grandnieces (Tessa and Addie Muller) as graduates of Notre Dame San Jose. She celebrates sixty years as a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur, serving in a variety of leadership roles, including the Congregational Leadership Team and province leadership. Currently, Sr. Nancy is a Class B liaison for the East-West Province of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. 

Deacon Rubén Solorio - Catholic Faith Leader

Sacred Heart Nativity Schools

Deacon Rubén Solorio, parent of Isabel’19 and Sara’20, is the president of Sacred Heart Nativity Schools. Prior to joining the school, Rubén was the director of individual giving and donor stewardship at the YMCA of Silicon Valley. He spent time working throughout the Diocese of San Jose in leadership roles at the Chancery, Sacred Heart Parish, Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County and Sacred Heart Community Service. He was ordained in 2012 as a permanent deacon in the Diocese of San Jose.

Father Victor Trinidad - Catholic Faith Leader

Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Cathedral Basilica

Father Victor Trinidad was born and raised in San Jose, California and attended St. Victor's School, Bellarmine College Preparatory, and San Jose State University where he received a bachelor's degree in computer science. He attended St. Patrick's Seminary & University starting in 2012 and finished his theological studies at Mundelein Seminary in Illinois. Father Victor was ordained to the priesthood on June 1, 2019. In this first clergy assignment, he serves the Cathedral Basilica community in downtown San Jose as parochial vicar.
