Students Visit Downtown Partner Adobe Systems

Students in Notre Dame's graphic design class recently ventured downtown to visit software giant Adobe Systems. They were given a tour of the facility and experienced a firsthand glimpse into what it's like to work for a tech giant.

Anna Giubileo '18 shared a her reflection of the trip. "I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first got to Adobe for the fieldtrip, and was interested to see what we would be learning. I got to see how much they care about the products they produce. I could really see that in my favorite part of the trip when we went to the floor where they worked on Photoshop and got to see the little time capsules of the history of the product. It was also apparent in the personalized details like a Photoshop toolbar stained glass window. I also got to see how much they care about their employees and customers—making sure the workplace is fun and versatile and hanging artwork by different adobe users around the offices. This field trip gave me a deeper understanding of the company whose products I use in class, as well as a better confidence about my ability to go into a tech field if I want to. The stories that we were told and the confidence the women had in us as the future generation of workers greatly affected my mindset, and I know touched that of my peers as well."
