Student Announcements

May celebrates Asian American and Pacific Island Heritage Month. During this month, members of the AAPI community from all walks of life unite to celebrate and share their culture and diversity with the rest of the world. Click HERE for more information about AAPI Heritage Month. We also celebrate Jewish American Heritage Month. We join with our Jewish community in paying tribute to the generations of Jewish Americans who helped form the fabric of American history, culture and society. Click HERE for more information about Jewish American Heritage Month.

Let us pray. Our God and God of our ancestors, with mercy accept our prayer on behalf of our country and its government. Uproot from our hearts hatred and malice, jealousy and strife. Plant love and companionship, peace and friendship, among the many peoples and faiths who dwell in our nation. We ask that those who are treated unjustly may be granted the strength and courage to speak out, and that their voices may be heard. May you continue to lead us in making just decisions and empower us to tackle challenges that stem from injustice. We pray this in the name of all that is good and holy,  Amen.  (excerpts from a version of “Prayer for Our Country.”)

The Lightning Thief - ND Student Godly House Results
The performing arts department thanks the ND community for coming out to see the Lightning Thief! And thank you to all of the students who attended and made their submission for their godly house. The overall greatest god for ND students was Athena, and the class with the most play attendance (and the winners of the most Regent Cup points) was the Stingrays!

Sacret Heart Youth Action Committee
Do you care about the issues facing our city and want to do something about it? Join the Sacred Heart Youth Action Committee (YAC) and put your passion into action! The YAC is a team of high school students from all over the greater San Jose Area who care just like you! By joining the YAC, you will unlock the leader within you, strengthen your leadership skills, participate in social justice learning, grow your network, and learn how to raise funds for the causes you care about. They meet on the second Tuesday of every month at SHCS after school at 4 p.m. Find our more information here.

Faith Sharing Group
Beginning in November, join campus ministry for a faith sharing community group and bible study that is inclusive of all Christian denominations. We will read and discuss Scripture together as we explore what it looks like to live out our faith in Christ in community and grow on our spiritual journeys. Meetings will be on Fridays at lunch in the Center for Campus Ministry (C301) - bring a Bible if you have one! Reach out to Ms. Bradley with any questions.

ND Crafty Crew - A Place for Creative Stitching
Are you crafty? Would you like to be? Come to C203 Fridays at lunch to hang out and stitch: knitting, crochet, whatever you like. We will start meeting on Friday, September 22. This is not a student club, but rather a low key meeting of stitch-curious individuals who would like to hang out together, learn a new skill, polish old ones and share their craft makings! Fill out this interest form to help plan and source materials. Email Profe (csharer@ndsj.org) with any questions!

Order Your Yearbook
2023-24's yearbooks are officially sold out! Add yourself to the waitlist and order your senior tribute before they sell out or February 29, whichever is sooner. Email Ms. Mahler (smahler@ndsj.org) with any questions.

CommUNITY: Leadership Theme Gift
For students who did not receive a CommUNITY carabiner during the opening assembly, please fill out this form to request one. It will be delivered to you by your CP mentor during an upcoming CP.

Student Parking Information
Due to the limited number of parking spaces available in the ND/280 faculty and staff parking lot, spaces will be allocated to seniors only via a lottery system for each semester. Underclass students and seniors who did not receive a space in the lot have the following parking options:
     - Find free, on-street parking on the surface streets around campus
     - Park in the City of San Jose's I280/First Street parking lot and either pay the $5 daily rate at the kiosks in the lot or purchase monthly passes through the City of San Jose
Students in the class of 2025 can expect sign ups to open in April to enter the lottery for their senior year.

Class Ring Information
Browse the digital catalog of class ring offerings on the Herff Jones website! Rings can be ordered online for students of all grade levels and turn-around time from production to shipping is approximately 5-6 weeks. Please email Mike Rabago (mrabago@herffjones.com) with any questions.
