The Young Women’s Engineering Symposium (YWES) is an event ND’s robotics team hosts that’s intended to introduce high school girls to careers in STEM by inviting women in various fields to present about their experiences. This is a great opportunity to not only be exposed to a wider range of jobs, but also to get an in-depth look at what a regular job in the field looks like, career advice, and opportunities for networking. This year, we will have 5 speakers-Annie Cheng, an Electrical Engineer, Catherine Porter, an Electrical Engineer, Mae Kawamoto, a structural engineer, Lizmarie Comenncia, a mechanical and biomedical engineer, and Holly Nguyen, a software engineer, and you will be able to select which 3 out of the 5 speakers you are most interested in hearing from!
The event will be hosted from 9am to 12:30pm on December 4th on campus. You can go to this link to learn more about the event and our speakers, and this is the form to sign up. Sign up as soon as possible since we will be limited to 50 attendees!
