Notre Dame High School

Civic Hackathon

February 13

11:20 am - 2:55 pm

Notre Dame Campus

The Notre Dame Civic Hackathon is an in-house field trip for all students in the Class of 2020. Students will use design thinking skills to address civic issues they have learned about in their humanities courses. This event aims to increase student agency to develop and prototype digital innovations that help strengthen democracy, increase civic participation and transform our communities through the application of technology. This is the 2nd year that all juniors have participated in the Civic Hackathon, originally conceived by Notre Dame’s educational partner Facing History and Ourselves. The Civic Hackathon aligns with 11th grade themes of Notre Dame’s Education for Justice and Leadership Program. Students will consider local and national issues of concern as they apply Catholic Social Teachings and the concepts of race and membership to their design solutions. Back to Calendar
