Demerris (Class of ‘87) is a third-generation Notre Dame High School alumna. She
began her career as a high school English teacher before entering K-12
administration where she has served in various capacities throughout her 30 years as
an educator. She is currently the Senior Director of School and Community Programs
at Child Mind Institute.  As a teacher and leader Demerris’ focus has been to support
students and colleagues in their search for opportunities and tools that enable them
to be their best and, in turn, to do their best for others.

Demerris lives in Willow Glen and is a lifelong resident of San Jose. She loves to read
memoirs and true crime, hike Bay Area mountains with her Class of ’87 sisters, listen
to podcasts on long walks with her dog, go to OrangeTheory and travel with her
spouse Jeremy and son Sam.
