We are a department in which all members – both French and Spanish teachers – collaborate on a daily basis.  We plan together and share experiences, successes, and challenges.  Our goal is to make language accessible and enjoyable for all, with an emphasis on speaking the language.  We are extremely proud of the diverse activities and projects that we have developed – websites on the plight of the African woman, research papers on WWII, poetry and literary analysis, anti-racism brochures, pen pal projects, debates, Socratic seminars, service projects in the Spanish speaking community, work with the “Day Workers”, etc.

Students are prepared to be citizens in a global society where cross-cultural communication and knowledge of another culture will be a critical attribute.
