General Announcement

El Salvador Immersion for ND Parents – September 2 – 7, 2016.  Mr. Bracco will be piloting an adult immersion trip to El Salvador this September.  This adult delegation will work with FUNDAHMER, the Salvadoran NGO that has hosted our student delegations since 2008.  In addition to visiting historical and memorial sites in San Salvador, the group will travel to Yancolo to spend time in our sister community. Trip cost, including airfare and all meals is $1200.00. Space is limited to 6 people. Please email before May 27th if you are interested or have any questions.

Notre Dame is offering a confirmation preparation program for Catholic juniors and seniors in the spring of 2016-2017. Please fill out the online form to be given additional information and registration materials. Students who choose to participate are required to attend their grade level retreat and take the Faithful Life course. MORE INFO/REGISTER

Registration is now open for unior retreat, a two day/one night experience at Camp Redwood Glen in Scotts Valley, California. Fee is $150 & Financial Aid is available. Retreat Dates: Retreat #1: Thursday-Friday, October 6-7, 2016, Retreat #2: Thursday-Friday, November 17-18, 2016. Students who register before the Early Registration Deadline, Friday, May 27, will get priority choice in dorm selection for their assigned retreat date. MORE INFO/REGISTER

Registration is now open for senior retreat, a three day/ two night experience at San Damiano in the hills of Danville. Retreat Dates: Retreat #1: Wednesday-Friday, February 8-10, 2017, Retreat #2:Tuesday- Thursday, March 14-16, 2017 Students who register before the Early Registration Deadline, Friday, May 27, will get their preferred choice in retreat date and a discount on their registration fee from $275 to $260.  MORE INFO/REGISTER

Notre Dame is thrilled to send a delegation of Juniors to Nicaragua this summer! Student delegates will travel under the guidance of chaperones (and seasoned travellers)  Profe Cathy Sharer and Ruth Burson. The in-country host is Seeds of Learning, a non-profit with 25 years of experience working in Nicaragua. Students will have an opportunity to work with community members in building or restoring schools, and will meet Sister of Notre Dame de Namur, Rebecca Trujillo, who runs a school for students with developmental differences. They will also have a chance to tour some historical spots and places of interest in Nicaragua. There are still a few spots available for this trip! Dates are June 11 - 18, and the cost (including airfare) is $2400. Please contact Deidre Savino, campus minister for social justice for additional information.

Applications for the 2016 Stanford Medical Youth Science Program (SMYSP) are now available. You will find basic program information and learn more about basic eligibility requirements here.

Planned Absences:  If your daughter has an upcoming planned absence (i.e. for a family event or college visit), she needs to obtain the "Anticipated Absence Approval Form" from Mrs. McGovern, director of student life, in the Student Life Center (Rm. 112) at least one week prior to the absence.  The form requires the signatures of all of her teachers, her counselor, and a parent, in order to have the absence approved.  Please contact Mrs. McGovern at  

Please consider donating your ND uniform pieces that are still in good condition (ie no stains, no tears) to our Used Uniform Closet, which holds an annual sale for ND families in June.  You can bring your uniforms to donate in a bag to Mrs. Bobst in the front office or Ms. Kuebler in the SLC.
