Walk downtown and you will see utility doors displaying larger-than-life artwork by Notre Dame students.
The artwork adorns the double- and triple-panel doors outside the Fairmont San Jose, Pavilion building, San Jose Repertory Theatre and Camera 12 Cinemas. The original art was digitized, enlarged and transferred onto vinyl adhesive decals was completed and installed on the doors.
The Downtown Foundation has supported the Downtown Doors program for many years. The program has grown from four doors and participants from two high schools in 2003 to over 130 doors today. Selected artwork comes from entries submitted by students from Notre Dame, Lincoln, Evergreen Valley, Piedmont Hills, Leigh, Bellarmine College Preparatory and Santa Teresa high schools.
