Peer Ministry Leadership Team

Comprised of ten juniors and seniors, the Peer Ministry Leadership Team seeks to lead, inspire and invite the Notre Dame community to the experience of faith. Encouraged by the values of spirituality, community, and ministry, these young women will offer love, companionship and hospitality to the community, so that all can explore their spirituality with openness and encouragement. Interested students may apply for this executive level leadership experience in the Spring.

Spirituality of Leadership

The profound effects and possibilities of a woman’s leadership are the focus for this semester course. Students will engage with models of leadership found in scripture, religious traditions, and multicultural perspectives.  Students will also explore their own giftedness as an expression of God’s goodness while they consider the strength of their emerging leadership potential.  In the preparation and implementation of one school-wide liturgy and the Breakaway Days, this course will offer both theoretical and practical experiences of spiritual leadership at Notre Dame.

This course is required for any student wishing to serve on the Peer Ministry Leadership Team.  Students seeking to hold leadership positions on campus (ie. ASB, TASC, SLC, Class Councils, retreat and club leaders) are highly encouraged to consider this course.

Liturgical Ministries

Various gifts are needed for the preparation and implementation of Notre Dame liturgies and prayer services.

• Eucharistic Ministry — Confirmed Catholics are trained in the summer for this bread baking, table and Communion ministry.
• Hospitality Ministry — Students who apply for Ambassadors are invited to meet, greet and seat our Notre Dame community.
• Music Ministry — Musically gifted students share their talents and lead the community in song and musical prayer. Singers and instrumentalists of all abilities are welcome to join. Rehearsals are Tuesday afternoons.
• Dance, Procession, Environment & Lector Ministries — Students for these roles come from Peer Ministry Leadership Team, the Gifts, Spirituality and Leadership class, and by special invitation/volunteerism.
