What do you like best about teaching at Notre Dame?
In my role as the Vice-Principal of Academic Studies I have the ability to see the academic program and its impact on students from 9th through 12th grade. As I visit classrooms and see students in different learning environments - conducting an experiment in chem lab, learning how to throw pottery on a wheel, answering questions about Shakespeare in a class presentation, explaining their Women’s Place Project or Senior Service Learning Project to campus visitors, or helping their co-operative group members to understand a particularly tricky math problem - I am impressed by their willingness to ask questions, to lead in the classroom, to respect the challenges of their peers, and to push themselves to take risks to learn and to grow.
