T.A.S.C. FORCE
The Notre Dame High School Community Service Advisory Board, otherwise known as T.A.S.C. (Teaching, Advising and Serving our Community) is comprised of selected students, the Associate Director of Community Service Learning and the Director of Community Service Learning. Students apply for a position on the council and are selected by a committee of adults on campus. Members are predominantly upper-classwomen. The purpose of T.A.S.C. is to advise the Directors on ways to improve the Community Service Learning Program and to bring about awareness to the entire community at Notre Dame about service opportunities, social justice experiences and philanthropic efforts. The council provides constructive suggestions in order to better the program for the students, school and community at large. Council members work to create an in-house mentoring program that will assist students doing service.
Instead of having three separate leadership groups: T.A.S.C Force, Day Worker Leadership Team and the Committee on Service, we will have one large leadership group known as the T.A.S.C. Force. Within this group there will be three subcommittees, Advocacy, Service and Social Justice. These subcommittees will be responsible for what the three different leadership groups planned and organized this year but will now be under the large umbrella title of "T.A.S.C. Force." All three subcommittees will work together to support all the dimensions of the Community Service Learning Department. T.A.S.C. Force will be made of 20-24 students, including the ASB Commissioner of Community Service.
