"Ah, how good is the good God." --St. Julie Billiart

Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry invites the Notre Dame community to “live the goodness” in the tradition of St. Julie Billiart and the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. Students are encouraged to deepen their understanding and experience of themselves as people of prayer, hope and vision. Campus Ministry, a key component of the Notre Dame learning community’s spiritual development, offers regular celebrations of liturgy and prayer, grade level retreats, ongoing spiritual development and peer ministry opportunities for student leaders.

Liturgy

Notre Dame's liturgical life celebrates the richness of Catholic prayer and worship in several forms: Eucharistic liturgy, Morning Prayer, liturgy of the Word, and other communal prayer experiences. These liturgies are scheduled throughout the year to celebrate the liturgical calendar and honor important moments in the life of the student. Interfaith prayer forms are included at opportune moments to mark the common experience of faith. To learn more about the Liturgies and Prayer Services for the year, click here.

Retreats

Students are invited to participate in a number of retreat opportunities during their time at Notre Dame. These experiences, offered away from campus, are a time to come together in joy and friendship for fun activities and self-reflection. Retreats are offered for each grade level and build appropriately to match a student’s development and experience in high school. To learn more about the Retreats offered for the year, click here.

Ongoing Spiritual Development

Recognizing the journey of faith, Notre Dame offers opportunities for ongoing spiritual development for the larger community. These opportunities, including small faith communities, spiritual direction and Confirmation preparation, meet the needs of our students, parents, families, faculty/staff, and alumnae. Peer Ministry

Ministry for students by students is at the heart of the Peer Ministry Program at Notre Dame. With faculty guidance, students are empowered to be servant leaders for their community as they use and cultivate their gifts. Several opportunities are available to meet the interests and needs of the community:

  • Peer Ministry Leadership Team
  • Religious Studies course — Gifts, Spirituality, and Leadership
  • Liturgical Ministries of Dance, Eucharist, Hospitality, Music and Proclamation of the Word
  • Retreat Leadership
