LACROSSE: Notre Dame began their league play in lacrosse with a 16-4 win over Woodside High School.    Junior Emily Thumann had an all around performance with 2 goals, 2 assists and brought a strong presence  to the midfield.  Scoring came from 9 different players including sophomore Ariana Vargas and freshman Claire Smoker getting their first goal in a Notre Dame jersey.

TRACK AND FIELD: T & F competed in the K Bell Invitational on Saturday with strong performances from several ND athletes:

Lizzie Diemer, '10 took 10th Place in the 100 meter hurdles (18:54)
Laura Pandori took 18th place in the 3200 meter run (12:39)
Taylor Walker-Wimberly took 16th in the 100 meter dash (13:38)
Melissa Chaidez took 11th place in the 8-- meter run (2:33)
Jessica Zeta took 16th in the triple jump (30-05.00)

SOFTBALL: Notre Dame softball was victorious today in their first league game against Pinewood 10-1.  Freshmen Elizabeth Hopkins pitched a 1 hit game allowing only 1 run, and 2 walks.  She also contributed on offense with 2 RBI's.  Freshmen Gabby Ornelas had a powerful bat going 3-4 with a triple and two RBI's.  Junior Kaitlyn van deer Zweep, Freshmen Lauren Richard, Freshmen Lynnae Maultsby, and Freshmen Celina Mendoza were among the others who were responsible for hitting RBI's to help their team to victory.

SWIMMING: Swimming defeated Menlo School yesterday 92-62 with outstanding performances from many girls. ND moves to 1-2 on the year and will next face The King's Academy at the SJSU pool on Wednesday, March 24 at 4 pm.
Highlight: Freshman Kelsey Barton swam her first Varsity event and won the 200 (2:33) and the 400 meters (instead in 5:04.
