Amnesty International
Moderator: Ms. Catherine Sharer
Amnesty International advocates human rights and justice issues and promotes active involvement in counteracting human rights violations throughout the world through letter campaigning, peer education and awareness.

California Scholarship Federation (CSF)
Moderator: Ms. Kristina Bass
The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) is an academic honor society. Students apply for membership each semester, beginning with the spring semester of their sophomore year. Selection is based solely on grades in selected courses from the previous semester, as outlined in the state charter. Membership may be denied for disciplinary reasons. Each chapter of CSF must sponsor a service project, but participation is not required. Students are encouraged to complete a CSF application each semester and return it to the CSF moderator. At Notre Dame High School, the CSF service project is a peer academic tutoring program. Students who volunteer regularly as tutors throughout the semester may exempt one semester exam for a course in which they have at least a 93% average.

Desi Club
Moderator: Ms. Sandy Wright
The purpose of the Desi Club is to educate, bring awareness, and show Indo-Pakistani diversity and culture in our Notre Dame community.

Diversity Council
Moderators: Mr. John Bracco, Ms. Kathleen Quiazon and Ms. Heidi Rolfson
The Diversity Council aims to educate our community about diversity and to dialogue about our experiences. This council seeks to prevent discrimination and feelings of isolation by recognizing human worth, promoting understanding and celebrating diversity. Students with interest for involvement should contact one of the moderators.

Environmental Club
Moderator: Mr. Chris Lay
The Environmental Club is open to all who want to take action in the preservation of the earth and its inhabitants. Our mission is to enjoy, protect and learn about the natural world through community service, campaigning, fundraising and camping while raising awareness of environmental issues in the Notre Dame community and the public.

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)
Moderator: Ms. Lauren Antonioli
FBLA is a non-profit educational organization of students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. The FBLA mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. Club Meets: B Weeks, Mondays, M208

Filipino Student Association (FSA)
Moderators: Ms. Sinead Delaney, Mr. Mark Fagiano & Ms. Ruth Burson
FSA is a club that explores the Filipino culture and heritage through various activities including service, fundraisers and community events. Events help members and Notre Dame understand the Filipino culture, create friendships and share with fellow students.

Interact Club

Interact is a service club dedicated to providing service and fundraising opportunities for the students of ND in conjunction with Rotary San Jose North. Coordinates on campus blood drives.

Italian Club

The Italian Club seeks to teach the Notre Dame community and club members about aspects of Italian culture including: food, music, art, language and everyday life and how Italian culture impacts society in the United States.

Indigenous Student Movement (ISM)

The Indigenous Student Movement seeks to enlighten and spread the culture of indigenous peoples of all nations in the U.S. and north and south of the border.

Japan Club

The Japan Club welcomes everyone in learning about the Japanese culture and sharing this interest with others.

Latinas Unidas

Our mission is to develop Latina fellowship throughout our community. We educate young women about the Latina culture not only to encourage but also to help them develop involvement with their community.

Literary Magazine
Moderator: Ms. Hilary Orr
The Literary Magazine promotes creativity within the Notre Dame community through an annual compilation of student work demonstrating their writing and artistic talents.

Math Team

The Math Team’s mission is to encourage young women to actively participate in activities that will challenge them to think in new dimensions and to help build skills in mathematics and problem solving outside the classroom.

National Honor Society (NHS)
Moderator: Ms. Victoria Evashenk
NHS recognizes students who exemplify academic achievement and other outstanding characteristics. NHS members uphold and promote the four pillars of membership: scholarship, character, leadership and service. Standards for selection are high and granted to Juniors and Seniors who demonstrate these qualities not only in school activities but also throughout the community. Membership in NHS is both an honor and a commitment.

Notre Dame Alliance
Moderators: Ms. Heidi Rolfson & Ms. Rita Cortez
An on-campus group that is focused on respect and acceptance for who each person is, regardless of what that means for the individual. This group will support education, affirmation of rights and safety, openness and acceptance, participating in the school’s culture from the perspective of counseling, ministry and diversity.

Peer Counseling
Moderator: Ms. Heidi Rolfson
Peer Counseling is open to students who are taking or who have taken the Peer Counseling class. They are trained in peer-facilitating skills and offer counseling services to the entire student body.

Robotics Club
Moderators: Ms. Lynne Adler & Ms. Alison Crawford
Students experiment and learn about engineering and robotics, designing and building a device to compete in the annual Tech Challenge competition each April. Formed for the purpose of bringing together those interested in learning about and building robots. If you are building or planning to build a robot or just have an interest in the subject of robotics, then this is the club for you.

Speech and Debate
Moderators: Ms. Rachel Rich, Ms. Barbara Brown, Ms. Reena Matthew & Ms. Carin Bettencourt
Notre Dame Speech & Debate seeks to prepare students for interpersonal communication, to teach them how to present themselves effectively in interview situations, to foster an atmosphere of friendly competition and to teach the gracious winning as well as losing.

Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)
Moderators: Mrs. Mary Beth Riley & Mr. William Whitney
SADD provides students with the best prevention and intervention tools possible to deal with issues of underage drinking, drug use, impaired driving and other destructive behaviors. SADD works with ND and outside community members on various activities and events, such as Junior High Outreach Program, which educates 8th graders on the effects of drug and alcohol abuse.

Tech Club

The purpose of the Tech Club is to build a collective website for submission in the world wide ThinkQuest website competition.

That’s Entertainment/Improv Club

The purpose is to share everyone’s talents with the community and to expose Notre Dame to performing arts.

The Lunch Box
Moderator: Ms. Kate Hovig-Schiltz
Open to all current art, photo and ceramics students to work on their art and also to students who would like to register (small one-time fee) to participate in ongoing art projects.

Vietnamese Sisterhood Association (VSA)
Moderator: Ms. Charlotte Carlson
The Vietnamese Student Association is a culturally diverse society that wishes to learn about the rich Vietnamese heritage and how it applies to life today. It is the hope that through both cultural and social events, members will gain a deeper understanding of an easily misinterpreted culture.
