In addition to a general course of college preparatory study, students can specialize through Academic Pathways that provide particular focus for college majors and careers. Interested students work with their personal counselor to identify courses and map out a graduation plan to meet the student’s needs and interests.
Highly motivated students with capacity for further scholastic challenge may enroll in one or more of 29 accelerated courses, or Advanced Placement and Honors courses, offered at Notre Dame. Seventy-five percent of our students take accelerated courses. Students may move on and off of the Accelerated Pathway based on interest and demonstrated ability.
Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) is a distinctive pathway that blends emerging focus on STEAM preparation with the unique location of Notre Dame in the SoFA arts district of downtown San Jose.
Visual & Performing Arts Pathway
Students interested in the arts - whether visual or performing or both - can explore content and hands-on learning opportunities that position student artists to pursue the arts in college and beyond. Access to local professional theaters and art galleries provide an additional venue for artists to build their exposure and resume.
